Update

A week has gone past and I have accomplished a lot more this past week than I have in a long time. Simply by noting down my goals and objectives, concentrating on one at a time and getting them done! Of course it helps if my wife is sitting over my shoulder...

I make jokes, but I tell you it works, getting things done is easy if you apply yourself to the task at hand. But remember, only apply yourself to one task at a time, it is very easy to get sidetracked and to try and focus on more than one thing. At the end of the day, you will look back, feeling exhausted and exasperated, because you will have accomplished nothing!

One of my little online businesses has generated £69 in the past week, this is directly due to my increased focus on single and simple tasks that I can get done.

Have a great week!!!

Getting things done!

Well, today has come and gone, again! I spoke about goals and objectives last time and well I decided to set some goals and get specific myself.

I set an income goal and some task specific goals to accomplish by Saturday 1st November. You know what, I achieved all of what I set for myself and more. I made more money than I had targeted, simply because I set some other goals and actually achieved what I set out in my plan. You can do it, plan it, set it down in paper and do it when the date arrives, no excuses...

On top of that, my wife and I paid all our bills today, it is off of our plate, we do not have to worry about it again this month and all I have to concentrate on is making more money, which is great, load off my mind I tell you.

Goals are wonderful horrible things, if you plan them and then do not act upon your plan, they have a tendency to eat away at your life, like a big horrible Goblin on your shoulder saying "I told you so". BUT, if you act upon them, you will start to achieve all that you have ever wanted out of life, believe me...

God Bless.

Get Specific

Many people talk about goals and objectives and the need to set them. Write them down, be specific they all say, but how many of us actually do this, and does it really make a difference in the great scheme of things?

Well, I have read a great deal about goal setting and decided that I would do something about it today. There are many formats and templates out there on how and what to do, I stuck with creating a simple list of what I need to do in order to really expand my online experience. I then looked at each and every thing I had written down and I chose two that I felt were important and needed my immediate attention.

I then created a more detailed version for each item, detailing within each item what I needed to actually do and accomplish in order to complete the task. Added to that I have pencilled each item into my diary on a specific date and I am going to attack that task when the date rolls around.

I have realised that as humans, we keep a lot of stuff in our heads, I do, at least I did! It gets very depressing and frustrating at times, too much in the old top section, that there isn't always space for the little things. I quite like the way I am feeling right now, quite free...

I have set certain goals over the course of November, a much slower pace than I might normally have set myself, but then I would have been focussing on a 1000 things at once and probably only really accomplished 10 of them.

So I have been specific and I will let you know how it is progressing, lets see what results I get?

Cheers

Change

Today has dawned like many days in England, overcast and grey. My wife and I had an argument this morning concerning money, surprise surprise.

But she had a real case today as you know what, I had spent money again that she knew nothing about! Which I had tended to do many times in the past and even recently.

Anyway, I felt belittled during certain parts of our argument, but I calmed down and she managed to vent, because she was naturally frustrated concerning my lack of communication regards our expenditure. Now I must add at this point that it has been extremely difficult for me over the past week or so, since I asked her for help managing the home finances, I have felt at times as though my B_ _ _LS have been cut off, my male pride I suppose...

But do not get me wrong, this is only me getting used to change. Change is never really liked by most people, myself included, but change is always good. I have felt amazingly free this week, as our home financial issues have been shared with my wife, and let me tell you, she is an amazing organiser.

I will leave you with this bit of advice, share things with your spouse, communicate with each other: your life, your relationship will be better for it.

What a Depressing Day!(Sunday 19th October 2008)

Whew, is all I can say. What a really depressing day for me. Finances are a mess, I can't really say that I have a handle on too many things in my life at the moment. The only thing I am certain about is that my wife and kids love me, my wife has stood by me through thick and thin over the last couple of years and quite frankly, I don't know how she did it.

We are seriously in debt, well when I say seriously, some people may laugh at me and respond with "what the hell are you on about?" As it is I am only about 10000.00 pounds in debt at the moment, but that is made up of 4 different credit cards, a couple of personal loans and some store cards, oh, I forgot to mention I bought some stuff on a BUY NOW PAY LATER scheme, that will be due in about 6 months. My salary does not cover our outgoings at the moment and the only way that we have survived is the fact that we have an online business. Now don't get me wrong, this is a business that does not produce a helluva lot of money, but it has produced enough over the last couple of months to keep our heads above water.

It is a sobering thing to have to admit to yourself that you are in debt and that you need help. My help is in the form of my wife, who I have typically kept at arms length when it comes to finances, truth is though, she is better at money management than I am or probably ever will be.

So I thought it was time to pool our resources and get on with the business of living, I get on and do what I do best, persevere with the online business of making money and she gets on and manages the incoming cash. Od, did I forget to mention, she home schools the kids as well, not too bad a catch if I do say so myself.

At the end of it, not really a bad day at all - what do you think?

My Online foray!

I don't know how other people have started with their online endeavours but I started as I assume most people would have and that is by wanting something more out of my life.

I wanted a better life for myself, one where I was not dictated to by others. Maybe it is the want of more spare cash or the want of a better life, we all have motivators and we are all driven, some more than others and I would say that I have always had a burning desire for more out of life.

I remember back in 1995, I started with my first online product, I cannot recall exactly what it was but it was titled something like, "Make a million dollars from Home". It cost me $197 at the time and I was in South Africa so the exchange rate was about 6.5 to 1. It cost me approximately R1100, which to me at the time was a tremendous amount of money.

I received the package, opened it with extreme excitement and read it in one afternoon.

Boy was I disappointed...

My initiation into online and internet marketing had begun...
